These people are evil, and uncaring. I took my ferret in for a heartworm test because I believed that he had it. They insisted it wasn't and that they needed to do more tests. They took my ferret back for FIVE MINUTES and charged me $223. Two days later, I got a call that he had heartworm.
I immediately took my other ferret in to check her, and it cost me only $23 for the heartworm test. They charged me $650 for 3 treatments, my ferret died after the first one. They charged me $55 in a bill stated: "disposal of Mocha (his name)" I paid for the first treatment, but they said I had to pay for the other two, even though he died from the first one because it was "agreed" upon to do the treatment... That was when i thought the treatment would actually TAKE PLACE!
They sent me to the credit bureau, and I found this out because I was unable to get a low intrest rate on a car because of this sick little business of theirs. I called them up, and got a woman screaming at me in the phone and saying that I owe the money, and didn't have the money to pay. I had plenty of money to pay, they will NEVER EVER get a dime more of mine.
I just wish I could get back what I lost. My ferret... AND my money! I found out later from a ferret specialist that the medication he gave him was not even supposed to be given to a ferret, and that was the cause of the ferrets death. However, what is more sickening, is that he told me heartworm is not treatable in ferrets at all.in the end, between treatment and medication and tests I spent over $1000. Mocha was taking about 7 medications 3 times a day.
It makes me cry to think that the medication i forced him to take was killing him. My ferret never had a chance sadly, but it made it all worse to go through the trauma of Brenner Animal Hospital on top of it! Please do not go to these people with your animal, if not for me, for your animal, and your wallet!
