On 12/20 I paid $500 down toward the purchase of a horse trailer that Jimmy Adcock of Yuba Trailers was to build for me. Jimmy told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks. Around the first of March, I called the number listed on the invoice and got a recording that stated the number was not a working number. I drove to the trailer shop in Heber Springs, AR only to find everything locked up. Knowing that Jimmy and his Dad (Harvey Adcock, former owner of Yuba Trailers) lived near the shop I drove the the first home which belongs to Harvey. I talked with Harvey and asked him what was going on. I explained that I had paid a down payment toward a horse trailer. Harvey said that he and his Son had talked about me the week before with Jimmy stating he had to refund my money. Harvey said Jimmy had run into some financial problems and had to shut down, and that Jimmy had gone to work for another company but would not say who he was working for. Harvey told me Jimmy's wife (Stephanie) was at home and that I should go talk with her. I drove to Jimmy's house and Stephanie came out to talk with me. She stated that they were having financial problems and asked me to give gthem 2 weeks and they would mail a check to me and that she would have Jimmy call me, which he never did. The cell phone number that I had for Jimmy has been disconnected. Harvey told me if I did not get my money to give him a call, so I waited 2 weeks and 2 days and called him. I told him I had not heard from Jimmy and had not received my money. Harvey said he was going over in the next 15 minutes and have a talk with his Son.
Today is 3/30 and Jimmy still has not called and no check in the mail. I told Harvey last night that if Jimmy did not produce the money I was going to file a complaint with the Small Claims Court and it would cost Jimmy more than the $500.
