Paid $37.00 (by personal check) to a door-to-door salesman for a subscription to Popular Science to "help him win a trip to Europe". I almost immediately changed my mind and the next day mailed to RAA the required documentation (per RAA's instructions) to cancel the subscription and refund my money.
Five months later and no refund. The RAA phone number is either "busy or does not answer". I only lost $37.00, but it scares me that this ripoff outfit may have my bank account information...
