We recently went to our local HQ Home store. They handle Sauder furniture and we purchased a $300.00 desk/hutch. When we got home and went to assemble it, we realized that the instructions and hardware were not included. We called the store and were told by the sales associate Josh that they did not have the parts and we could not even return the desk because we had opened the box (which of course is where the parts and instructions should have been). We were told that we would have to contact the Sauder Co. Ourselves and order the parts. We then asked why they couldn't open another box and give us the parts and instructions. We were told that it was not their policy to do that. They offered no advice other than it happens sometimes. We requested a call from the district manager on Monday. We then called the Sauder Co. Number to order the parts and they were closed on the weekend so we couldn't even order the parts. Meanwhile we have a diningroom full of desk parts until this can be resolved.
