In April I was hired on as a driver at the rate of 32.5 cents per mile, with additional compensation in the form of a mileage bonus of 5 cents per mile after the first 30 days, and an additional 5 to 6 cents per mile for fuel and safety bonuses after the first quarter. Detention pay was to be paid after the first two hours. Soon after hiring on I was informed by dispatch that detention pay was not paid to the drivers on the dedicated fleet until after 4 hours. A month or so later once again i was informed by dispatch that detention was not paid while at the account's facility.
This month, after several months of simply ridiculous and embarrassing pay checks, I sat down with my pay stub and found that my mileage compensation had been dropped to 31.5 cents per mile. No notification of any kind had been given of this decrease. After faxing my paperwork from my Hire on date, at my own expense of $5.00, the Recruiting and Retention department contacted me. They were surprised that I would not be willing to stay with the company for 32.5 cents per mile, mile original base mileage pay.in their words, this was their salary cap.
They did however agree to pay me the one cent mileage pay that they had withheld from me, as of my payroll information today. This has not been paid. I am not a rookie driver. I have been driving for almost 28 years, I have a clean drivers license and my CSA score is zero. I have worked for several companies, and I take pride in the company that I work for and the job that I do. I have never been more disappointed by any company and more embarrassed to admit that i work for this one. It has driven me to the financial hardship of having my house foreclosed on. My salary for this company this year will be right at $20,000.
