Look at this in two perspectives... You could be a a guest of a party or you could be the party planner. I'm sure if you're a guest, you would never know the difference. If you're planning to have your wedding here, forget it! What a nightmare. I have been in event management for 15 years and I must say that I have never worked with so many incompetent individuals in my career.
Planning a wedding is already stressful as it is and to work with people that gave you such so much stress for paying them $15k... Spare yourself the time. I have worked with Elektra Cruises and their staff is well organized and transparent.
The boat: nice, elegant and beautiful... The furniture is new
Management: Dishonest and unprofessional. They questioned the integrity of our own vendors and tried to trick us by charging us full adult prices for children's prices. When you catch them, they pretend it was a joke. Watch their excel formulas closely. If math is not your forte, they will screw with dollars. On top of it, their level of flexibility is unimaginable. Worst 20k we ever spent as a family. Their information changed everyday and refused to at least try new ideas. They also questioned the cultural integrity of the way we do weddings in my family. They also charged us almost 500 extra 3 weeks before the wedding for standard napkins and then they don't give you an option to find other vendors for they charge you anyway to set up the napkins.in my opinion Poor business strategy. I could have brought 150 other future businesses for them. Sending them to Elektra instead.
Musician/DJ: Truly incompetent. They hired a musician as a dj who hates djing but loves the limelight of being in the front of the piano and by his sax. He also lied to me on my face about music that he forgot to download and was complaining throughout the evening about how demanding we are. He said "You are driving me crazy"... A dj with no audio input for a standard audio and video equipment. Come on! I could have bought my own DJ equipment and played music with a remote control from my car.
My sister had to almost marched to trance music because of poor skills in following basic instructions and incompetence. On top of it. He told us he downloaded everything... A DJ who worked for 3 hours and got paid almost $1000 who also has a $200 speakers system and no dance lighting should never complain. I could have done a better job as a dj in my gown and heels. He must be related to the yacht owner. I should have just paid him to sit and eat dinner.
Also. Who dances with no lighting equipment from a dj? They said that they don't want the coast guard to mistaken a disco light to an emergency light... A federal agent with years in training was just called dumb... Lame in my book.
Food: Mediocre but large portions. Your guest will be happy if they like typical american cuisine. For my taste, it's not up to my newport standards. They can do so much better. $100 a plate... in newport? It's disheartening. It was a fast food pizza chain, i'd say it's little caesar's... I'd rather just order the crazy bread lol
Catering Staff: Generally nice but many of the coordinators are too young that I wouldn't trust them for the happiest moment of my life. Also, a 70 year old man should not be giving you their opinions about a woman's wedding day. Do what we did, hire a bitchy coordinator. It was worth our investment.
I don't know how they are as a corporate event company but definitely not suited for a wedding. Go somewhere else or use your $25k to buy your own boat and do whatever you want.

What do I want? Please refund our money from the dj and the napkins... I think it's fair. With elektra cruises... Standard white and black napkins. Are added... How could you call yourself high class when you serve paper napkins? Move your boat to long beach then. Add it to the package but be transparent... Don't tell your customers 3 weeks before the wedding and joke about it...
Also, if you want management and staff developing consulting... Call me. I will double your annual sales in 3 months!
