Non-payment, breach of contract, delaying payments

Encore Nationwide promises on its website to pay its contractors 4-7 weeks after events. However, they frequently break this promise and there are plenty of horror stories about checks being received extremely late, if at all. They have many big names on their client roster and there is no excuse for this. There are plenty of other staffing agencies out there and we do not need to tolerate having our pay held indefinitely.

Not only do I urge people not to work for them, but I also ask clients to recognize that there is a problem with this company (there are too many complaints describing the same pattern of behavior for this to really be just a few malcontents as has been asserted) and ask yourself if you want to be associated with a company that engages in these shady practices. There are a lot of great, professional contractors out there who won't work for them anymore because they don't want to have to beg for the paycheck that they earned and are entitled to in a timely fashion. If you hire Encore, you risk getting the sort of staff who will tolerate this because they don't have other job options.

Do your company a favor and hire a marketing company with a solid reputation. It's a very competitive field and you have lots of options.
