I purchased a Pom-a-Poo from Tami M. Davis who breeds them in her home. The puppy developed a genetic problem, "Legg Calve Perthes Disease, where it suffered with constant pain and only had use of three legs.
I sent several requests for her to negotiate an agreement to either give a partial credit or help with the $750. Surgery bill. She refused stating that her puppies did not have a history of the genetic disease. I found this to be a sorry excuse for not acknowledging that this puppy suffered from the genetic disease and needed surgery to repair the condition. Without the surgery, a full healthy life would be impossible.
My family and I had grown attached to the puppy, so I sacraficed and made sure the puppy received the surgery and medical attention necessary to correct the condition. I don't know how many puppies she has sold with these disease, but if I had known of her history, I would have looked elsewhere when purchasing my puppy. I feel that it is my responsibility to communicate my experience to others in hopes to help them avoid taking a risk purchasing from a breeder who sold me a puppy with a genetic disease.
