While browsing their website I discovered that this shop is claiming to be a professional tattoo and piercing school, they are charging $5,200 for a 2 week tattoo course and $1,600 for a 3 day piercing class. This shop is not an O.S.H.A. Certified establishment, and in my opinion, based on the work pictured on their website, the individuals working there haven't any business teaching. If anything they could benefit from an actual formal apprenticeship themselves.
In my 7 years in the tattoo and piercing industry I have learned that, like any skilled trade, body art can be a very rewarding and prosperous career when taken seriously. Any well respected professional will tell you that the only way to properly learn how to safely and properly conduct work in a tattoo and piercing parlor is a formal apprenticeship under a professional artist for at least 1 year.
Unexperianced people with their hearts in the right place can easily be duped into paying an exorbitant fee for a crash course and a certificate. When they attempt to find work in this industry they will find they are evaluated by the time they have invested in their craft, the quality of artwork in their personal portfolio, and above all, the recommendations from artists they were trained by and have worked alongside.
