Via a telephone call, was lured in by these two companies to have a mortgage modification done. Guaranteed IF the loan modification could not be done, any funds already paid to the Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) office would be refunded, "because we are not the type of company to take money for services we are not able to provide you".
Once I received a call saying "you have been approved for the program and your worries are over" (that takes 24 to 48 hours), the consumer receives a packet of information about the legal services the consumer will receive for the $2,700 paid to Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier). The information is marked "time sensitive", the paperwork needs to be completed, three checks dated 30 days apart (i.E. 3-1-11,4-1-11,5-1-11), the packet is sent back to Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) and ClearPoint Financial Solutions and the consumer is told the "mortgage modification" Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) will be getting done for you as the consumer, will lower your mortgage close to half of what it originally was.
The first check for Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) is cashed immediately, days and days go by, you now have no response from anyone and start to get a little worried. However, if you, as the consumer, can get anyone to answer the phone after going through a myriad of phone numbers, extensions, transferred from one person to another, no one has any answers, you are finally connected with an assistant to the attorney at Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) and told everything is fine, the attorney will be contacting you, "they" have everything under control, "they" are very busy, but "you have nothing to worry about and you will receive a call within 48-72 hours with an update". Wrong... You have a lot to worry about as the consumer, your checks are being cashed, your money is gone, and you still have received NO legal services... And you guessed it, no call from the attorney representing you as the consumer, is ever received by you.
Then the next check is cashed and you, as the consumer, still have no answers. After weeks and weeks passing, so many phone calls ignored, e-mails ignored, no return calls to you as the consumer, and no return e-mails to you as the consumer, you do now realize you have been lied to and simply ripped off.
The wonderful Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) office and ClearPoint Financial Solutions who claim to be upstanding and "we have a wonderful reputation"... That is absolutely not true, be careful, DO NOT BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM. I now personally know, and am very close to, another person that Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) and ClearPoint Financial Solutions did this exact "dance" with. He is also out his money, no "mortgage modification" was ever done, Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) simply was paid $2,700 by that consumer as well. Obviously, there is quite a racket going on in Jacksonville, Florida by these two so-called "companies".
I most certainly have filed a complaint with the Florida Bar Association AND will also be reporting to the Better Business Bureau AND will be filing a report on every single "rip-off" website the Internet has to offer. I seriously hope enough people will see this complaint and use it as a learning tool to stay away from any affiliation with Lanier Law LLC (Michael W. Lanier) and ClearPoint Financial Solutions based in Jacksonville, Florida so less people have this happen to them.
My biggest question for these types of people is, how do they lay their heads down on their pillows at night and go to sleep knowing so many Americans are struggling with our economy as it is now, yet they have no conscience and no problem ripping people off? WOW! Pretty sad example of human beings if you ask me.
