This business sold us a used copy machine for our home office. When he demonstrated it in our office, it left a small black rim around the edges of the pages. He stated that it had a part that was starting to go bad, but it still had some life in it and since we were a low volumn user and used it mainly for internal documents, it should last for some time. He then said that I was to call him when the part finally failed and he would replace it at no charge - replacement cost to be included in the purchase price. My agreement to purchase the machine was based on that guarantee.
I had used his service before (purchased a used copier and used his maintenance/repair services), was satisfied with his work and so I agreed. When the black rim on the paper grew larger and darker, we called and he put us off, stating that the agreement was that he would replace it when the part actually failed. When the part finally failed, I called him and he refused to honor the agreement, stating that he had not made such a promise. I reminded him that both my wife and son were present when the agreement was made and that it was he who had offered it. He then called me a scammer and hung up the phone.
He lied to me, stuck me with useless copier and ripped me off for $500.00.
