I started working at Dillards in July and decided to give my 2 weeks notice on February 14. I decided to pursue a better employer who treated employees with respect. On February 21 I was called into the office of our Merchandising Manager (Rikki) She told me I was being let go based on sales.
That makes no sense. At Dillards, you get fired after 3 paycuts (based on low sales performance) and I had only had a raise. (Due to good sales). I had over 80 hours of vacation at Dillards and I truly believe the reason I was let go was so the company did not have to pay me out my benefits. I asked Rikki if I was still going to receive my vacation hours and she said no. How can a company deny you vacation hours? I worked hard for those hours.
I feel what they have done is illegal. I want to report this, for the sake of other people. So they do not have to go through this.
