Friday Feb 4 Palm Beach County Clerk "garnished" $307.00 of my $362.53 payment. I was nearly locked out of my storage unit containing all of my belongings, which could have then been auctioned off. My son had to wire me money to pay it. I went to the clerks office and was told by clerk Mark Bicknell that since 1998, the clerks office had failed to collect it's $5.25 fee when collecting my child support. That I was in debt to the clerks office in the amount of approximately $1000.00. That they took that large amount because they didn't know when my payments would end and wanted to get their money before it did. I told the clerk that they were about to cause me to be locked out of my storage because they took all but 58.17 of my money. The clerk Mark Bicknell said that they made a mistake by not taking that too. He asked if I really needed the money and arranged for 275.00 to be returned within 7-10 days when I said that I did. I should note that this same clerk ask the man who was in line in front of me if he wanted to pay on his "old fees".
