Had to go with this company since the property is bank owned and they chose the title co. They charged me $550 as escrow fee, $300 as Doc Prep fee, $150 as title search fee. They claimed this is half of charges and the other half is charged to the seller. They claim it is more than norm because the property is bank owned. Checked with Direct Title and a few other and it should be less than $350 for buyer half even with a REO case. I wonder how a regulated company can charge so execcive and not get caught by Dept of Insurance? I am going to check it with Dept of Insurance.
