I called and booked FlatRate Movers on Tuesday, 10/12 to come to my apartment that Friday, 10/15. They took my credit card information (linked to my bank account) and confirmed my appointment both over the phone and through an E-mail. I called back on Thursday morning to confirm and provide the exact address of the storage facility I am using. Again, I received another confirmation E-mail on 10/14.
At 11:05am I called to get an estimated time of arrival, they said they would call me back at noon and never did. I called back at 1pm and was told that they had cancelled my appointment because I failed to confirm the previous day. They called me while I was in a meeting at work, I called back and no one answered. I had already confirmed on the phone that very same day. A woman named Sue (who thought she had to spell her name for me) was incredibly unhelpful, gave me the run around, tried to claim my credit card didn't go through (there's plenty of money in the account) and wouldn't let me speak to a manager, instead trying to get me to speak to customer service. The saleswoman, Samantha, also claimed that I did not confirm, total lie.
Becuase of what they did I have to now pay my landlord more as it activated a timeframe beyond my lease, and I am already paying for another apartment. FlatRate are liars, unhelpful, and overbook to ensure they are busy with no regard for the ramifications of their actions.
Avoid at all costs!!!
