Kathy Lynch Kathy Lynch of D&K Property Management Stole $4000.00 in Deposit and Rents

I contacted Kathy Lynch for Property Management service of my Houston Rental. She secured a tenant on July 15 but told me Aug. 1st. When Rental checks were not being received I contacted her and this is her exact email response.

The tenants check was returned by her bank and she is supposed to bring in cash on Monday. I sent you a copy of the lease on the email dated 8/9. The file was to large to attach and had a download link. I will be back in the office at the end of next week and will call you to touch base. Thank you for your thoughts about my mom, she is still the same, no worse but no better. I will email again on Monday once I get an update from the accounting department about the payment.

Thats when I received a call from Keith Devoe of the Heartland Services Group LLC. He informed me of the Family emergency with Kathy's Mom and he was "Helping" her with her clients and would eventually be partnering up with her under his company. I emailed Kathy to confirm Keith's conversation and here is her email response.

We will be closing out D &K over the next few months and will have this accomplished by year end. We are shifiting our focus to property acquisitons and mentoring. We are not accepting new management clients any longer, but will retain some of the clients that we currently have. Essentially, everything with your property will stay the same. A new contract with the same conditions will be drafted between the client and Heartland Services Group LLC. The only exception will be that the tenant will be sending their money to you directly and you will send us a check each month for the management fee. This will eliminate the need for monthly statements and cut down on administrative costs. We reccomend that you open a bank account with Bank of America, Chase Bank, Wells Fargo or any other major banking chain so that the tenant can deposit funds each month to your account. You can also recieve payment viaPaypal. We would instruct the tenant to send the money as a "gift" rather than a payment so there are no fees throughPay Pal.

I have tried on several occasions to contact both Kathy Lynch and Keith Devoe but to no avail. Phones have been disconnected and Email go unanswered. I finally hired someone to check the property, and it was rented. The tenant provided documentation of all rent checks and deposits to Kathy lynch totaling nearly $4050.00 that was deposited directly to Kathy's bank account and said she never bounced a check. I also paid approx. This tenant also informed me she had been with out hot water for nearly 2 months and had a sink clog for over a month. Kathy's response to her was she contacted me via certified mail. (Never Happened). I immediately hired someone to fix the items in question.

Kathy, without a doubt ripped us off. As for Keith, he sure seems suspiciously involved to me. If not than come clean Keith, you seem to have a lot more to loose. I would stay clear of both companies for sure
