I went to the UPS location at 4200 Samuell Blvd.in Mesquite, TX to ship a package off to Fresno, CA. And the weight was 142 lbs and some ounces.

We parked in the handicap parking, but could not find anyone to unload our package. I proceeded to the inside to get a dolly where we struggled to unload our package from the vehicle. Once we got the package unto the dolly and into the customer center no one was available only another consumer who advise me to put it to the right of him in an opening that was leading into an employee only area. We didnt want to let it down because it was harder for us to lift again so we called out and a UPS employee came forward and I explained how heavy the package is and where could we put it because it was very heavy.
Im in my 50s and my husband is retired and limps due to a stroke he suffered so time ago. We were directed to enter our information.

While filing out the information I gave the representative the dimensions of the box and also told him that the dimensions are printed on the box. He told me my cost would be $184.73. I told him something must be wrong because I had done my calculations before coming there.

I paid the bill and received a receipt and right when I was about to walk away he called me back took my receipt and stapled it to the shipment receipt which I start looking at it on my way out. After trying to read the fine print of the shipment receipt I noticed Large Pkg Fee $50 I returned and asked why was this not noted on the UPS website and that it was unfair to the consumers to go online and get quoted my price and to come in and pay such a large additional amount. I let him know that I will follow up so I left.

Call UPS the next day September 8 after receiving my confirmation e-mail I noticed the dimensions of the box was 32x25x25 and thats when I blew up and I knew then he had taken me for my money. I spoke with a supervisor, who explained that I need to take it up with the customer center in Mesquite, TX for my refund and the complaint against the employee who I felt purposely put the dimensions in wrong to create the overcharge.

September 9 we went to Mesquite, TX Customer Care Ctr to speak with a supervisor and the supervisor claimed that she would get back to me by Monday September 13 and I have yet to hear from her. So I dialed their 1-800 again to see what was the chain of commands for UPS and was landline with another representative who transferred me to another representative who claimed that she would ask for a phone call be placed to me so I could know the solution and she transferred me again yet to another representative who referred me back to Mesquite, TX. No one else could help me per the last representative I spoke with.

My box has the dimensions printed on it from the maker of Uline Corrugated Box Co. Who guarantees their boxes. No matter which way you fold the flaps the dimensions can be seen 32x24x24 and the price for my box dimensions is $139.98. The representative was told that and he knew that as well. The UPS employee purposely input the dimensions at 32x25x25 to overcharge us because we made mention that we was disappointed about the quality of service that was received and the fact there was no one to assist us with unloading the box.By adding x1x1 to the dimensions it bought my total to the charge to $184.73. Rip-off.
