The state of Pennsylvania owns a chain of liquor stores that mimics the free market but is a monopoly. Ask anyone who has to buy wine or spirits in Pennsylvania how they like it. I myself am partial to these stores, but the organization is corrupt beyond belief. Their store in Folcroft, Pennsylvania served the community for 40 if not 50 years. I like that it lasted so long, considering how bad area crime has gotten.in the past year, however, the store closed for business literally overnight. Keep in mind this seemed to be their only store within a three-mile radius in all directions. You do have to realize this "company" has a monopoly on their field in the state. PLCB store closings (not relocations) are extremely rare. So I wonder what happened here. The shopping center receives a lot of pedestrian traffic from locals. Where the heck are they supposed to go now? The shady Springfield store? Where the employees smoke in the store, illegal since this is a state enterprise? And have been rumored to shoplift from their own store?
