Make sure that every communication you have is in writing. Do not accept any date or time estimations given by a rep over the phone. Understand that you are working with a transportation broker, not a transport company. Understand that their contract does not guarantee a transport time. It gives BoatsExpress 30 days to locate a transport company. Understand that any special arrangements are not an option. Understand that if you do agree to the contract terms, you are not provided with the information of the actual transport company. Please make sure you have read and understand the contract in full. There are terms in the contract that Boats Express will interpret differently then you. (convenience rate, dispatch, etc...) Expect all assistance to potentially end the moment you wire the deposit money. If you attempt to inquire about the date or transport company, you will be reminded that Boats Express has 30 days to locate and dispatch a transport company. Understand that if you attempt to cancel the service within the 30 days, Boats Express WILL advise you that they have already "dispatched" a transport company, and your deposit is no longer refundable, once a transport company is dispatched. While Boats Express advises that credit cards can be accepted, please understand that ultimately the money is accepted via wire or money order, as this removes a consumer's entitlement to dispute the transaction with their card services when Boats Express does not meet its contract obligation. Please accept these statements as objective in nature.
My personal subjective experience. I enlisted BoatsExpress to move a 38' Sea Ray that i was purchasing from a Marina. Bob Graviss Jr was the salesman i communicated with. I ultimately signed the contract and wired the deposit monies. After not hearing from Boats Express, or a transport company for a few days after confirming receipt of the money wire, i inquired with Boats Express about the status of my order. I was advised that they have 30 days to meet their obligation. It is now 60 days since i have signed that contract. Neither the marina, nor I have been contacted by a transport company. I have since inquired multiple times upon the expiration of the 30 day contract. I have yet to receive any form of response.
