Gary stone disgusting business practice and work ethics

I received a verbal quote from Gary Stone owner of Colors Unlimited in Niles, Michigan and in that verbal quote he stated he would "throw in" painting the ceiling and the supplies were included. I decided to have my house painted and he brought over the contract and I asked why it was so much higher ($500.00) than discussed and he said it was for painting the ceiling and I informed him that he said he would "throw that in" his reply was in the painters world the additional $500.00 was a deal". I wanted the job done so I signed the contract. We agreed that I would pay half of the balance upon completion of the job and the remainder in 90 days of completion. I paid 1/2 before the job was complete. He came over to fix some minor repairs but NOT all. At that point he stood outside my garage and THREW (tossed on the floor) in a bill for materials which he originally said was included in the price of the quote. I looked at the contract and in small print it said materials not included shame on me for not catching it. During the time he was painting my house he kept asking me to write him a letter that I was completely satisfied. He started harassing me to write this letter for him because he was going to court because he was being sued by another customer. He arrived at my place of employment and asked for the letter of satisfaction once again then proceeded to tell our receptionist that she needed to "watch her back" working at our establishment. He left my house in shambles and I had to hire two people to clean at the price of $280 that's how disgusting it was left. The contract states in bold lettering line #7 home will be kept in a neat and orderly fashion at the end of every work day. There is still dry paint all over my floor and they stored their drink cups with paint on the bottom of the cup in my refridge so there was paint inside of my refridge and left my microwave in a complete mess. When they cleaned their tools they splashed water all over the fresh paint. Broke my chandelier, I had to call a service tech (60.00 service call) to fix my TV projector because the company handled it so rough. I had a company to come in and restrip part of my cherry wood floors because it was scratched because of the scaffold. He handled my belongings so rough I had to throw away a Christmas gift my daughter's father gave her because it was broken. They left all appliances unplugged, lamps turned over left on the floor, furniture dumped in the middle of the floor and not put back. Did not paint behind toilets and the paint was so thin in areas that you can see the old color and paint drips on my trim. After I called him to address my concerns the next day I find a threat letter about putting a contractor's lien on my house. When I called and addressed this he stated "this was standard operating procedure" for him. It did not make sense to me? That's odd business practice I thought. I paid him the $1042.00 in material charges that he said "was included" but really were not. I signed the contract so I wanted to make sure that I was in good standing and I paid it. Funny how the thrown in ceiling cost an additional $800.00. Dont forget when you throw in the ceiling he had to throw in the material too!!! After this I called to try to come to an understanding and play "nice nice" to get my home in complete order. I called him to reschedule work to be done and it took him a week to call back said he never got the message. Once we set an appointment I had to cancel due to arrival of family and during that call I told him I would like to pay a little more on my balance... Remember the contract states I will pay complete balance in 90 days (not 90 days as of yet) He called me while my family was in town and I was not able to return his call that day so he proceeds to leave me a voice mail the next day saying that he didn't get any money yet and if I wanted to "play that game" he was going to ONCE AGAIN put a lien on my house, what was that all about? I don't owe him the balance until the end of May according to our agreement. I paid Gary Stone in full on April 28 according to the contract and now my house is not complete and I am out money in service fees to fix his mess!!! Caution. Dont ever do business with him. He has BBB complaints that he never replied to either.
