I used to work for The Rejuvenators, but cannot disclose my name because they have been harassing me for telling the truth to customers.
This is how the whole swindle goes down:
You invite them into your home, under the false premise that they will preform a complete air duct cleaning round the house, and another service rendered free of charge (dryer vent or return air flow). All this for the cheap price of only $55. At least that's
what they advertise.
The $55 bundle is only their point of entry, and from there they try to upsell you. They work in pairs: the more experienced salesperson, and his laborer. The salesperson is the decision-maker, and he gets commission, so he will use scare tactics to try and upsell you. He will actually try to convince you you need MANY other services you probably don't want OR need. You should know that behind the scenes, he is also pressured to do this by the owner, Oron.
Heed extreme caution when they say you have "mold in your system", "clogged dryer vent", "buy new anti-bacteria filters", or offer to clean the AC unit.
ALWAYS double check what they say, and it doesn't matter how well you maintain your home, they will ALWAYS find problems, and will try and scare you into at least sanitizing the system, which will run you at least 3 times as much as what you initially expected to pay for.
Same thing goes for the carpets, but over there they key services are "steam cleaning" or "chemical treatment".
I was actually a witness to a customer whom they convinced needed "special chemical treatment" to remove bad coffee stains - which even after the expensive treatment and "advanced technologies", NEVER came off.
As long as you are willing to pay extra - much extra - you will get reasonable work, but if the salesperson sees you don't want any of the other more expensive services, he will tell his laborer to quicken up the pace regardless if they do the job correctly or not. He wants to finish up as quickly as possible, in order to get to the next customer, and try to make a big sale there, at your expense.
Try to check up on them and see if they are doing lousy work. If they try and exaggerate the amount of noise or effort, especially in places where you don't have visual contact, such as the attic, make sure to double check those places before they leave to make sure you at least got serviced professionally.
You usually don't know the condition of your air-ducts, and they will try to take advantage of that in order to upsell you. Don't trust them. Don't fall for the scam.
