I recently visted target in valley stream, ny on 08/03, and had an awful shopping experience. I was shopping with my mother for some items for my new apartment which i was moving into. When i was done with my selcetions i got on the 10 item or less line. My mother and i both had a purchase. My mother had 9 items in which she wanted to purchase, when the cashier betty told her the amount my mother realized she still had 2 items in which she forgot she was carrying. She explained to betty how she forgot she had the itmes and asked if she could purchase them as well. Betty gave my mother such a nasty attitude and started telling her this is a 10 item or less lane. My mother told explained to her that she didn't do it intentionally but she really forgot that she had the items in her hands. My mother apologized to her, yet betty still was nasty to her. She never told my mother her total and rushed her. Since i was standing there with my mother she refused to ring up my purchase. She started taking all the guest that where standing behind me. I told her excuse me i'm waiting to be rang up. Betty replied to me very unprofessionally "yea i know, i ain't ringing you up, i already called someone else to do it." i asked her what the problem was and she started to ignore me. I felt a little discriminated against because my mother and i where the only hispanic people on the line at that moment. A gstl by the nanme of marielle came over after 15 mins and rang me up. She never apologized nor did she listen to my complaint. I been shopping at this target since 2004 and i have never experienced the humilation in which i did on the 3rd.
