I had to move very quickly from Wisconin to North Carolina. Found Interstate Moving and Storage in Atlanta wanted a Southern company (figured more people would be moving south than north to the small town in Wisconsin where I was living). Found them on Monstermoving.com. Figured "Hey, Monster endorses them, they can't be all that bad!" Plus, I was operating in a limited budget.
They arrived a day late with NO packing materials. My job started in three days this is the busiest moving week of the year (July 4), so what am I going to do, not move? Find another mover? Forget it! They arrived without room on the truck to take all my stuff, so I had to leave my piano among other things at the house in Wisconsin.
Long story short my stuff arrived severely damaged. Gashes in my coffee tables, sofas. Piano finally arrived a month later after traveling to 5 states because the office never gave the truck driver my new cell phone and work numbers. Piano had a 6 inch chunk taken out of the bottom and scratches all over it. Movers had no experience moving pianos after I was assured over and over that they did. Brought no piano moving equipment with them and damaged it additionally bringing it into the house.
Took photographs of everything after speaking to Ran, the owner of the company. (Harrowing experience getting in touch with him. I called one day and was told "We're busy moving the office, he cannot talk to you. Call back tomorrow" when I received my shredded home furnishings. I was hung up on 10 times that day). Sent photographs and a letter via certified mail per owner's instruction. Have not received a receipt for the letter, and now all their phone numbers are "not in service". I am at a loss as to what to do. I got estimates to repair/replace everything and the total damage is approximately $3000.
Oh, and they forgot the lid to my grill at their warehouse in Atlanta. I was told it would be sent to me. I don't expect to see that thing again. Grill's kinda useless with no lid.
I am at a loss as to what to do. I can't find them, I want to sue them, but I don't know how.
