16.17055 Reata Road, permit #G97938 Laura Cutbirth, Tortoise Roofing requests a variance of Table R301.2 (1) Pikes Peak Regional Building Code, to waive the requirement for ice and water shield frm teh eave to 24" inside the exterior wall.
Kevin Pace of Tortoise Roofing appeared and stated that he replaced ONE LAYER OF FELT ON THIS ROOF WITH TWO LAYERS OF FELT, but he had MISCALCULATED THE ELEVATION AND DID NOT INSTALL THE ICE AND WATER SHIELD. A motion was made by Chad Holladay to recommend to the board DENIAL of the variance request because he feels it is a small project and can be corrected, seconded by Tom Anderson, the motion carried unanimously.
What this pretty much says is this:
Laura Cutbirth messed up on her job, by miscalculating the elevation of the home and had the job done the wrong way... Even with Kevin Pace going to bat for her, it shows that niether of them know what they are doing, because it the variance was denied. So instead of installing 1 layer of Ice and Water shield, they install 2 layers of felt? What does that do? And the job was small project, and they went that much out of the way, to request a variance to try to get away with not fixing it...
Is this who you want working on the largest investment of your life???
Think again fellow homeowners, don't let these cheap skates mess with your house!
