I purchased an english bulldog puppy from Kristies Bluegrass Bullies back in March. A few months later all of the hair on her face fell out and she developed patches of missing hair on her body. She was diagnosed with demodectic mange. Demodex is mite that can only be passed from the mother to the pups. We have had several trips to the vets office for skin scrapes, medicine and shampoo, which has gotten pretty expensive. Not to mention the two baths a week she had to have. It has taken over three months to finally get a clear skin scraping. Our vets office has told us that this can only come from the pups mother and if it is known that demodex is present the dog should not be bred. A dog can have it but not lose hair until something causes a drop in their immune system so it can take months before you know. Our concern is that we have informed the breeder of the problem but she has continued to breed the dog, her name is Bindi. Please be aware of this if should you decide to buy a puppy from them.
