So as far as I know, I'm definitely NOT the only one that has had a horrible experience with this rat firm. I've tried repeatedly to call them trying to setup a payment plan that I could afford. They wanted $100/month. That's ridiculous. If I didn't have the money to pay the original bill before it went to them, why the hell would I have that much now? I've talked to Utah Dispute Resolution to try and get them to talk with the law firm to get a payment plan worked out that I could afford. They never called them back until I got involved and told them to talk to UDR. They still wouldn't contact them or return their calls. Then I started having problems contacting them and getting them to call me back. It seems really slimy that they would wait just to make it look like you didn't contact them back so it looks good for them.
I ended up calling the original company I had the debt with, who then told me they were in the process of stopping all dealings with Johnson Riddle & Mark. Since I last contacted the original company, they have stated that they do not work with that law firm anymore because of "how they treated the defendants". Now I can see why just reading some horror stories online about what they are like. I am submitting a complaint with the Office of Professional Conduct with the Utah Bar Association. I wish I would have known about them sooner. I'm also going to try and talk to the judge and the Attorney General. Maybe if we get enough people to complain about them, some fair treatment might come out of all this?
