I was contacted by Chris Lang regarding a position in Topeka with a company called "PBS works for me". I went an interviewed all went well. I was told that as soon as the company returned from an Alaskan Cruise that I would be hired.
This was approx. Mid May. Look I'm not blinded by BS, so I skeptically said... So what do I do wait? Chris indicated yes take down your resume.
The company came back and I re met with them just to make sure we were all on the same page. The PBS contact indicated that he would need to get approval for the position but that he had pre approval and all was good... Were now at the beginning of June. Chris indicated that around June 14th I would start.
I met with PBS again in the second week of June and was assured by Chris that the position was iron clad.
As we approached the end of June I was getting daily texts from Chris indicating that everything was fine and he only needed to execute his aggreement with PBS then I would start. I told him this is very unusual and it was creating issues as I had pulled my resume and had passed on several position already.
I heard from Chris one last time telling me that PBS had approved everything.
I never heard from him again. I texted and called repeatedly and have never received any sort of explanation or letter or anything.
Look, I'm an adult and I understand things happen. But thats not the issue, the issue is the lack of professionalism. I feel either Chris had 2 people in position or he was lying the whole time.
Either way, why? I could have continued looking.
Just be careful with Chris Lang at Paige Technologies. He's either a sociopathic liar or horribly dispassionate unless he's drawing a commission.
