I have a problem with Tru green chemlawn. I discontinued services with them last year because after they areated my lawn it started dying and the only response I got when I complained was that it was normal for the grass to do that and it will grow back thicker. Well that didn't happen. There are still spots and spaces in my grass especially up front where anyone can see it coming up to the house. I told the company I wasn't satisfied and I don't want their services anymore and paid my bill.
This year they apparently called my house and said they talked to my husband who agreed for them to come out to spray my yard and they sent the bill in my name although I didn't speak to them or agree to anything. Also, I had a discount with them last year that they did not apply to the bill they sent. Last year's bill was $42 and the first bill they sent was $62. I didn't know anything about this until I saw the bill. I then told my husband that I got rid of this company last year because they messed up my lawn and didn't even try to rectify the situation. I had to pay to get it treated and it's still struggling to come back to normal. My back yard has lost half the grass.
My husband was not aware of this and that's when he said they showed up again and sprayed again. This time they sent out a bill for $82. I called the company and told them that they're billing me for something I didn't agree to and my husband was not aware of their deception and I didn't want their services because I complained before and they did nothing to help me and they called my home and activated a cancelled policy without even sticking to the prior price. They made my husband think that I had a bill like that before and they told me he said they could bill the old policy.
I told them that they should have billed him and not me and then the billing lady asked what his first name was. She then said that she would call back and play the tape to see what he confirmed. I told her that she should have asked him for his name when she talked to him and to let me hear the tape because he would not have agreed to those exhorbitant prices compared to the ones I had before.
The company called back with someone else who said she didn't tape anything but she called and spoke to him. I told her that he's not familiar with the bills and had no idea that I didn't want this company back and didn't realize that the charges were so much more. And then they came back a second time to spray without any confirmation from anyone of us. They said that he agreed to leaving a message on the phone as confirmation. I never agreed to that even when I had them last year. I told them that I wanted my lawn to be treated every 2 mths, not every 4 weeks and that they deliberately misled him and I was dissatisfied with their services.
They now claim that they will file a lein. The bill is $144 for two treatments. I want my yard to look good but I can do a better job myself with what this company has done to my yard.
They didn't try to reduce the bill to what I had before and told me that my problem is with my husband and not them and I need to pay the bill because we're married. This underhanded tatics is called bait and switch in anyother business. You offer services without fully disclosing to the customer that you are increasing prices and not doing exactly what you promised. I don't even think they did anything to my back yard because the grass is slowly disappearing.
