Colorado Weddings I can't believe I was treated like this

Here are the issues I had with Mike Klein from 303weddings / Colorado Weddings. First off, he told us that he was the owner of Miramonte Lodge (our venue), and I found out today that he is not even employed by them, he is a vendor they use.

We were told that our tasting was supposed to be on Thursday, June 18th. We went to the venue for the tasting and when we got there they were setting up for a wedding that was that evening and we were told that there was no tasting scheduled for that evening. When I called Mike to ask about it, he said, oh yeah, we rescheduled it for Tuesday, the 16th. That was 2 DAYS before the one we were originally told about. They never called or e-mailed us to tell us it had been rescheduled, so we missed it. I asked when the next one was and Mike told me they weren't having one in July or August. Our wedding was in September, so I found this a bit rediculous. I think other people complained as well, because when I called back about a week later to set up a private tasting, I was told they had set one up for August. It was only 3 or 4 weeks prior to our wedding, but at least we got it done.

The day of our rehearsal noone showed up. We had met with Mike 4 days before and he had told us that he would be there at 10am (the time of our rehearsal) on September 12, and that we needed to bring everything for the reception (decorations, etc) so that we could show them how we wanted it set up and wouldn't have to worry about remembering everthing on our big day. Well, like I said, nobody ever showed up and we waited there for an hour. We ended up leaving everything in the entryway in an unlocked building since we didn't know what else to do with it.

During the two meetings that we had with Mike preceeding the wedding he had convinced us to book their DJ, which we were okay with since they were around the same price that we had originally budgeted. He assured us that their DJ was amazing, that all they do is play weddings so they are really good at emcee-ing the entire reception and keeping everything going. Well, we didn't find out until we were at the reception that the "DJ" for our wedding was the same guy, Mike Klein. While we were eatinf the speakers completely crapped out and we couldn't find him anywhere to fix it. I've worked with sound systems before, and during an event there should ALWAYS be someone at the soundbooth in case something goes wrong. The music did eventually fix itself, but that was after at least 2 minutes of no music and a lot of popping coming from the speakers. I do have to say that he was very nice when our groomsmen asked to serenade us he plugged in a microphone for them.

My husband had asked Mike if we would be able to pick up our stuff (centerpieces, etc) a few days after the wedding and Mike had said that it was okay, but that we would have to arrange a time to pick it up. A couple of days after the wedding I called Mike to find out when we could pick up our stuff and he said the first day anyone would be there was that saturday, only 6 days after our wedding. When we showed up to get our stuff their was absolutely no organization. We had to dig around in their storage room for about a half an hour trying to find everything. They lost my veil that I had taken off during the reception and forgotten to take with me at the end of the night. Not only that, but we had extremely nice crystal vases that are my grandparents (one of whom passed away recently), and when we counted there were only 9 there. We had 15 of them, so I knew there were some missing. They were settng up for a reception that was later that day and had taken our vases (that were in a box that was clearly marked with our name) to use for that reception. Needless to say, we took them back, rightfully so. When I told them that I couldn't find my veil anywhere they told us that we should have come back sooner to get our stuff if we didn't want anything to get misplaced. It had only been 6 DAYS since our wedding and that was the first day that we were told was available to come get our stuff. If we were any other just married couple we probably would have still been on our honeymoon still. If this is what happens to stuff left there less than a week, I don't want to know what happens to everyone else's stuff.

I do have to say that the food was delicious and we had ordered a cheesecake wedding cake from them that was phenominal (I even took the rest home to eat, lol), but those were really the only plusses that they had to offer.

After Mike had read this review elsewhere he proceeded to call me and harrass me for 25 minutes. He told me that we had a low class wedding and live a low class life, along with other personal attacks. My main problem to begin with was that he dealt with most things with a lot less professionalism than should be expected, and that call proved that to the furthest extent that I ever thought was possible. I would never recommend using them for any of your wedding needs. It is not worth the headache or tears.
