If you join Classmates.com, beware of a little scam they have going with a company called Privacy Matters (aka Privacy Matters 123 et al). I had an unauthorized charge after joining classmates.com from a company call Privacy Matters for $24.95. I have reported this to both my bank and the FTC. I know I am not alone so if you want to stop this BS contact the FTC at www.ftc. Gov and file a formal complaint like I have (Complaint No. FTC 23743442).
I also contacted Privacy Matters directly at 1-888-239-0316 and ended up talking to a customer service organization in Houston TX that is employed by them - along with 50 other accounts she told me). I registered my complaint and she said they would credit my account (yeah right) her name is Tony and her E-NO is 70045 which is probably a scam too. It's time we find out who these scam artists are and run them out of business.
They run PO boxes all over the country, the one the Houston office gave me was PO 5152 Des Plaines Ill. 60017 however my debit charge came from Connecticut. Hope this helps anyone else caught up in this scam.
