This trucking company Known as North Caribbean Transport or Sunline Logistics operates out of Las Vegas NV. And North Brunswick NJ. They are known for not paying the drivers they use and running illegal trucks and trailers. I know this from first hand experience. I have been a professional driver for 25 years and have never seen such a corrupt company.
Most of the drivers can not speak English which is a requirement by law, to operate a commercial vehicle in the United States. Most of the trucks and trailers they own and or operate have mechanical defects that would not pass a State or Federal inspection.in one instance they had a kid working for them. They gave him a stack of Annual Federal Vehicle Inspection Stickers. He filled in the blanks and stuck them on many of the companies trucks and trailers. Not one of these vehicles has a legal inspection. This is very dangerous to the public. I drove a truck with less than legal tread depth left on the tires. The company was notified that it needed new tires to be safe and legal. They refused to put them on. With this said, I refused to drive the truck so they threatened to fire me. The company is operating vehicles with bad tires, air leaks, worn steering components, cracked windshields, worn brakes, and the list goes on and on. Some of the trailers even have broken cross members on the floor. They had one trailer in Texas where the floor actually fell through. North Caribbean operates many illegal and unsafe vehicles on the roads of America. They have a probationary rating of 99 plus with the Federal Department of Transportation. My partner and I were kicked out of a truck by North Caribbean while we were about 2000 miles from home. We delivered a load in Las Vegas and were notified by dispatch to clear our belongings from the truck and take a bus home. They were upset with us because we were complaining that we needed new tires on the truck to be legal. Also, several days earlier I hurt my back while moving over 14000 pounds of freight by hand from one truck to another in a truck stop parking lot. The company was notified several times verbally and in writing, that I had hurt my back. All of my attempts to alert them of this were ignored. So, now we were stranded 2000 miles from home, with my back needing medical attention.
After we cleared the truck out of our belongings, as the company had demanded, they began to threaten us with the Police and the FBI.
We still have not been paid for our last 3 weeks of work that we have completed. Also we were promised in writing a $350.00 dollar payment for being on call for an emergency shipment that came into the Philly airport over one weekend. We were never paid for that either.
This is a very dishonest and illegal company that should not be allowed to operate in The United States.
