Upon entering Patchington's Winter Park, FL store this afternoon my wife and I were advise of a sale, and began looking at merchandise, deciding to purchase a purse. My wife wanted to see a purse in a window display, and we were told that the window items were "alarmed" and the clerk would turn off the alarm. My wife then picked up two other purses, and the clerk became very rude and insulting, and in a loud voice in front of other customers, said "See, this is a window, these items are alarmed because of SHOPLIFTERS!" My wife and I were well groomed, not intoxicated, and did nothing inappropriate or deserving of such abuse. We were publicly embarrassed and I put down the purse I was going to purchase, and left the store telling them "Goodbye and Good Luck." This sales clerk should be reprimanded for such outrageous behavior and a letter of apology should be issued by the Company for tolerating such people to work with the public.
