Weir Photography took pictures at my wedding. She was referred to me by a family member whom she does pictures for all of the time. Not only that, but she offered us a great deal. She did inform me of her reviews on line, but made up some bogus excuses for the claims against her. (such as they must not be too unhappy, they posted her pics on facebook/myspace)
I expressed to her that I wanted to do all pictures before the ceremony. She showed up an hour late, giving us 1/2 an hour for pictures. The only decent pictures from the reception are from friends and family. The majority of the proofs are worthless. When I viewed the pics she told me she was still editing them (I wasn't sure how she planned on editing the hundreds of blurry photos), and would let me know when this was done. (she never did)
She lacks communication and is unprofessional. Hobby or not, if someone is paying you, there should be some sense of professionalism. Save yourself the stress, spend the extra money and get someone who will treat you right.
