I found this vendor via the internet. I communicated with him by email & phone and arranged for him to install an expensive mailbox at my new home. He required a deposit, so I mailed him a personal check for $300. After failing to produce the mailbox, and after several failed attempts to reach him, he finally emailed me and gave me an excuse that the post that came in was the wrong post, keeping in mind that the post that was "incorrect" somehow came in after he was supposed to install the mailbox. Basically, he lied to me.
He offered to reimburse me. It took 2 weeks to get a reimbursement check, but it was finally received. The check bounced and he has yet to replace the funds. He has also failed to respond to two separate email requests for the funds and therefore I am filing a bad check charge in Mecklenburg County against him. The offense occurs where the check was received.
