Preferred Tax Relief promised to assist us with ~$20,000.00 of back-taxes owed to IRS. We retained them upon speaking with Mr. Matt Damon at $3,500.00 on December and to this day (June) they have done absolutely nothing. When we requested numerous updates and numerous phone calls with Mr. Malachy Dillon (the supposed attorney on our case), he was a no show on 3 scheduled appointments and knew nothing about our case after nearly 5 months. Our constant emails, faxes, phone calls, etc. Went absolutely unanswered. They lost documents we sent 6 months ago, and consistently showed an overall lack of organization and common competence.
They wasted time in preparing appropriate documents for the IRS (which they have yet to still send), showed no knowledge of our case after 5 months, cost us more in penalties & interest at the end of it, and to make matters worse, the IRS intercepted our Tax Refund to collect on previous taxes owed. When I contacted PTR and Mr. Bob Hanna (the supposed supervisor) to ask them what they have done so far & to provide a log of services rendered, they refused to provide it, and hung up on me.
They have incompetent staff and "consultants" who they claimed were tax attorneys. I have never seen an organization with this much blatant disregard for customer service, ethics, delivering service as promised, subject matter expertise, and total lack of follow through.
Alas, I received a series of letters from not only the IRS, but also the State claiming that I owed more money than originally calculated. PTR is a scam. They have taken my money and provided absolutely no service. If I had been smart enough to read all the negative reviews on this site, I wouldn't be in this predicament.
All of the individuals named on this report are scam artists. They've clearly been banking on people who are in need of real help. I asked Mr. Bob Hanna - how could he sleep at night after screwing so many people over with this kind of lack of service. He claimed, "It's not personal, this is a business. I really don't care."
Lets hope the law catches up to this poor excuse of a business and shut them down for good so that hard working Americans do not loose more money b/c of these thieves.
