My husband and I contacted Roni Lynn Deutch, seeing all those late night commericals on t.V. Desperate to stop the IRS and what they were doing, we called.
We were told that it would cost $2500.00 and listened to all these false statements about how they were going to be able to do all of this, and how they would more than likely be able to settle with the IRS for pennies.
Now first and foremost I nor my husband are not stupid people, we were raised with the values of don't make promises you cannot keep!
After several different phone calls with the office of Roni Lynn Deutch we received a pack and I do mean a PACK of papers in the mail, they wanted to know everything, something like 40 or 50 pages worth.
I filled out this paper work and sent it back.in the process of the paper work getting back to them the IRS took a garnishment out on my husband's Christmas Club. We aren't rich people, and that was to be our funds for Christmas for that year, and for our 7 year old child.
We contacted their office again and the lawyer or whatever he was, that we were working with said "Oh I can get that back" needless to say we never saw the money.
The settlement came through the original amount was for 25,000 they had settled for 24,000 at 400.00 a month. Now maybe I am not seeing the full picture here but umm that is not pennies on the dollar. My husband asked if he were to call the IRS would he be able to get it lower he was told "Well you can call but I wouldn't recommend it".
My husband did call and immediately was able to get it lowered from $400 a month to $300 a month. Now for $2500.00 you would think that these so called lawyers could of actually have done a better job than they did.
Let alone lets not forget the $900 that he was so sure he could get back. After several attempts to contact the office again and my temper flaring I finally gave up because it was our STUPIDITY thinking that they could actually have done anything they said they were going to! Oh and of course they never did get back in touch with us!
So for those who have had a pleasant experience with this office, congratulations! You are one of the lucky few who they didn't screw over. We unfortunately were not! I truly believe that since they basically did NOTHING for us.
First that they should have to refund the $900 that was taken from us for the garnishment and second that they should really have to give back the money that basically they stole from us with false statements about how they would help and third for basically doing nothing, I filled out the paper work, I am the one that did the leg work all they did was line their pockets with $2500 that we didn't have to give up!
We could have went to the IRS with that money! If the truth be known we could have settled for pennies on the dollars. Smart Lawyers, oh they are that, but it isn't because they can help you it is because they can rob you.
