I have bought 2 dogs from Tonya that were completely overpriced for what they are. I bought a blue female from Tonya and just before picking up my female, she offered me her blue/white sister for 1000 with full breeding rights. I drive to pick up my two puppies. After arriving home, I notice that the female Tonya offered for 1000 has an eye condition. I take her to the vet and spend additional money.
I call Tonya and tell her that the female as a genetic condition and I can not breed her because it will be carried on in any puppies she might have and she needs to be a pet only dog. Tonya agrees that she needs to be a pet only and asked me if I could find a home. I finally find a wonderful pet only home for this puppy. Tonya agreed on the price to sell her for and I have the new owners write Tonya a check for her.
Tonya tells me that she will get me another female for my 1000 - that is agreeable to me. When the time comes for the new puppy to be picked up, she asked for an additional 1800 for the new female! I am shocked! I tell her I didnt agree the additional money and I dont have the extra money to send her. So in the end, she has 1000 of my that she said she would honor, but wants to charge me an additional 700-800 more for breeding rights.
The last stunt happened when I contacted her recently to just close the deal on the 1000 she owed me, as a last attempt. I found a puppy I would agree to take, but when I contacted her, she said only one male was available. My friend, Kim, contacted her for a male as well and low and behold - ALL the males were available for her because Tonya would get the full amount for them and still be able to keep my 1000 without ever having to return the money or give me a puppy.in the end, Tonya sent an e-mail to my friend accusing her of being me and playing games... And told me, through my friends e-mail, that she was sure was me, not to contact her anymore. That is when I had enough. She is a nut!
I have asked for my money to be returned, I have contacted my lawyer, the BBB and the SC Consumer affairs. If my money isnt returned, I will be filing a complaint with the agencies above, pursueing a law suit and my attoney will be contacting AKC to file a report. It will end up costing Tonya a lot more then 1000 in the end for this mistake.
Dont do business with Tonya Ramirez. She is not honest, she lies and will not work with you. I am sorry that I ever got involved with that breeders. She gives Shih Tzu breeding a very bad name! It is a real shame she is such a dishonest person. It is true, she is nice in the beginning, but will not answer your calls after she has scammed you. She has gotten away with it too many times, but not this time!!!
