We have been a member of Be. Productions for about a year and a half here in San Diego. A few months ago we found out that the San Diego office was closing and that we no longer had a "talent director". When I sent an email to Liz at the LA office requesting a new talent director she said they weren't planning on reassigning people but that I could be reassigned if I wanted. I said yes, I want a new director. After a couple weeks of not hearing anything I wrote back and was told that they were doing away with all the directors.
We also recently rec'd an email stating that the company was now going to be called My Talent Services. I think that makes the 3rd name in about 2 years.
The talent showcase that was supposed to take place in San Diego at the end of May "cancelled" due to lack of particiapation. That's what I was told anyway.
My daughter was in their show B. Boppin' which we were told was already sold to a network. My question is why would they make this show when it is JUST like another show already on tv - Hip Hop Harry. The shows are pretty much the same just a different costumed character. Where are the other shows that were supposed to be producted by BE? There was even an email from Eric DeSando talking about the upcoming shows they were casting/shooting this summer. Haven't heard anything more about that.
Yes, we can still take acting classes as we have all along however, recently it seems that Riging Stars is also only in this for the money. For 3 months we were told my daughter would move up to the next level class. But for unknown reasons there was a delya in this happening. To make matters worse the last few classes she attended were filled with "boot camp" kids and there were WAY too many kids in one class to really get anything out of the class.
My daughter was only 6 when we signed up and we paid for the Super Star package in which we were supposed to receive services and support IN SAN DIEGO until she is 18. I don't see that happening as they no longer even have an office here.
