My parents were offered $100 worth of free gas by a Florida car dealer for test driving a new car. The program was administered by Free Gas Central, and since the requirements were pretty onerous (register and pay $5 for four vouchers, then mail in one voucher per month with $100 in gasoline receipts from one pre-selected brand of gas, which would then be exchanged for a $25 efree gas card for the same brand of gas) I completed the requirements for them. I received monthly e-mails telling me that my September, October, Novemeber, and December receipts had been received in good order, but never got any cards.
When I called in Late December to inquire (after a lengthy wait on hold) I was told that they had had a server crash and were sending out cards as soon as they could. When I still hadn't received anything by late January, I e-mailed them, and received an e-mailed response that all cards would be mailed by the end of January. Nothing has ever been received, and now their phone number has been disconnected. This is a total scam, and I have filed a report with the Florida Attorney General's office as well.
