I am very selective to whom I choose to give out my cell phone number to. CMS somehow found out my cell phone number and STALKED me for 2 days before they even got on the phone with me. Everytime I would try to answer the call, they'd hang up on me. This happend about 5 times in less than a 48 hour period!
Once they finally decided to talk to me the woman (she said her name was 'CONNIE', who knows if that is true) on the phone was jabbering on and did not take a breath to let me ask who she was. Finally when Connie slowed down enough to let me ask questions, before giving her the 'go ahead' for anything, she totally avoided my very basic questions like: 'who are you?'.
I had to be very specific, forthright and repetitive in my request to get information from her. It is at this point Connie blatantly lied to me about the company's name (she said she was with 'Cross Media Services') and their location (she said they were based in Florida).
Another thing that concerned me was that Connie knew what type of credit card I held, my current address and my cell phone number. Naively, before I figured out what was going on, Connie also got my full name, age and occupation. She was very repetitive and insistent that
I give her the 'go ahead' to charge me for these magazines. I told her that I wanted to know how much this was going to cost me. Twice she told me she didn't know because she had only worked there for about 6 days (yet another one of Connies lies, as NOBODY who works at a telemarketing company could perfect a deceitful delivery such as this in 6 days!!!).
When I insisted that she either tell me or I wanted to talk to someone else, she magically spit it out, she said very casually: 'Oh, well I think it will be about $700'. I told her no and before I could even get that short, little word out of my mouth, Connie hung up on me. I immediately took action to protect myself by calling my bank. I can only hope these people wrote me off as too much trouble to deal with and that they didn't charge me. Time will only tell.
People like this prey on the trusting, the elderly and the weak... For that alone I know their rotten souls will ultimately answer to their maker in HELL!!!
