The Right One
Only one good match in 3 years, but he was MARRIED! The match after him was married/dom. Violence history! Denve

I signed up with the Right One in April. I had interviewed with Stacy in the Denver/Glendale office and she seemed to be genuine and 'real'. She seemed to know exactly what I was looking for and assured me they had hundreds of matches in my area (Fort Collins, about an hour north of Denver) and thousands more in the Denver/Colorado Springs area as well. Being familiar with hard sales tactics, I asked pointed questions, to which she had appropriate, honest sounding answers.

So, after being worn down for three hours, I pushed aside the following doubts and signed up:

* The out-dated 'testimonials' on the coffee table in the waiting area
* The unattractive man (kids in tow) who came in and grumpily asked to speak with a manager.
* The 'sample profile' sheet Stacy showed me with what looked like a actor's photo pasted onto it.
* The car salesman tactic of going to speak to a manager to approve my many rate reductions.
* In the contract they suggest you can't mention your experiences with the service to your matches.
* They are located in a bank building with a door buzzer. You can't walk in to talk to someone if there's a problem.

Stacy assured me I could rescind the contract in three days if I wasn't satisfied, and she said she had a few matches in mind already. She gave me the impression she would be matching me herself. She compared the Right One to internet dating services and said her service was superior in that she offered personalized matching and safety through member background checks. She assured me she would find my future husband.

At this point someone interrupted our session and Stacy had to leave right away. I got the impression it had something to do with the guy who looked upset, but I had already signed the credit card slip. She came back to say she couldn't stay, but that an agent had my details and would be able to assist me. That agent also said she had a few matches in mind, but it was too late (after 10:00pm) to show me any and they wanted to wait for my background check information.

I never had the opportunity to speak with either of them again, and have been shuffled around through countless agents, even some in Texas.

I am attractive, happy, smart (or so I thought!), active, easy going, and successful, with no lack of dating opportunities. I thought I could save time finding someone special (and also background checked) by going this route.

Well, I signed up on a Sunday and they called me with my first matches the next day. Apparently they ran my background check overnight, on a Sunday.:) So, since they obviously didn't run a check on me, that means they didn't run them on others, either. Since I accepted the matches, I couldn't ask for my money back.

My matches have been terrible. Men I wouldn't look twice at on the street, and two of them were married. The second married man was horrid, stated he had no interest in filing for divorce (why go to all the trouble, he said), and mentioned in casual conversation that he had been thrown out of his father's house for beating up his stepmom! The others were not even close to what I had requested in my profile, and many of my 'must haves' were completely ignored.

After each of these and other bad matches I would call to talk with someone to voice my concerns and clarify my preferences. Then I would get another match with vague details that didn't facilitate my ability to choose who would be appropriate to meet. My last contact with them was sometime last year, when I sent an email stating I wanted my money back if they couldn't offer me a compatible match who wasn't married. I received no reply.

Make no mistake. This is a scam. I offer this advice to you: If you have even one doubt about a company, WALK AWAY. I would definitely like to be included in any sort of class action initiated against this company.
