My family was looking for a house in Las Vegas in the summer of 2008. It was tough to buy a foreclosure with so many bids on them. A friend of ours that goes to our church said that he may be able to help us get a foreclosure through Michael Racinowski. I thought he worked for him.
We gave him 2 checks for $2,500.00, One for the title company which was returned by them long ago and the other made out to Michael Racinowski because he said that he was going to give a deposit to the bank for the house we wanted.
Michael said he was dealing directly with the bank and he could get the house for us at the price we wanted. Meanwhile I would check on the progress through calling the listing agent anonymously and was told it was sold to one of his clients. Michael said he would look into it and don't worry about what the realtor says because he deals with the bank directly and he could still get it.
A few days later I looked on our county website where I saw it was recorded to the new owner so I again told Michael through our friend. He said Michael was surprised to hear this. (isn't that his job to know?) I then cancelled our contract on 9/5/08 and requested our money back. We received half from Ticor Title on 9/22/08 and am still waiting on the other $2,500.00 from Racinowski.
I have heard on so many occasions that the check was mailed, the check is on the way, then finally 2 bounced checks. One in October and the other in November. All of this could have been avoided by simply giving me the money that was never his in the first place. I asked several times to meet and pick up but always heard the above mentioned.
I figured that even though i didn't know this guy Racinowski, my friend wouldn't let me get burned by his employer. It turns out that he didn't actually work for him. He was just trying to do one part of a real estate transaction, (financing), and Racinowski is a "real estate investor" using as many people as he can.
I have went to the District Attorney's office. They sent him a letter of demand. My lawyer has also sent him a letter.
I have sent him letters, e-mails, phone messages and just makes excuses. He is even threatening to sue me for libel when he sees me post something like this on the internet. I tell him to go ahead since this is all the truth.
His phone goes to a messgae right away, there is nothing in his name on the county website, the only address i have is a post office box.
I would love to hear from anyone that knows him or where he is. He sure will not tell me.
