Rip-off liars

I was contacted by United Financial on June 6 with an offer for a credit card and a FREE computer and a FREE phone. During my conversation with the caller, I asked it she was for real. She responded, "Yes ma'am; that is one of the many benefits to joining United Financial. Since I was in the process of rebuilding my credit, I thought receiving a credit card would be a good start. The $299.00 charge I thought was a deposit for the credit card so I joined. I was told I would recieve my "credit card" within three weeks.

After 6 weeks and no credit card, I called United Financial and asked where my credit card was. They stated it was sent and it should be received within a week. I received a package that contained a lot of paperwork to be filled out. Still no credit card. There was a form that I had to still fill out to request the credit card (it would take anther three-four weeks to have a credit card). I called the bank/company offering the card to find out what my credit limit would be and I was told the card was a store value card and only good for any amount that was in my bank account.

Sorry! I could have done this myself. It sounded a lot like my debit card! The so called "FREE" computer and "FREE" phone, well, you still had to apply for it and you were only given the computer and phone under certain qualifications that had to be met and if you met those qualifications, it would only guarantee a discount NOT "FREE". This was a total rip-off.

I called United Financial and asked to be refunded my $299.00. They told me to call my bank and have my bank do a reverse charge. I called my bank and was told that because the debit was an agreed upon amount at the time of transaction, I would have to request my money back from the company. I called United back and they told me they would have their refund department call me within 48 hours. Guess what??? NO CALL!!! I made copies of everthing and wrote a letter demanding my money back and I sent them back everything that was in the package.

When I went to the post office to mail off the package, the clerk weighed the package and entered all the information into the computer and the clerk told me that there was no such zip code. The clerk took out a city & zip code book which was about 12 inches thick. It gives every city and country and their zip codes. GUESS WHAT! The zip code I was given for United Financial did not exist and there was no city "Closter" listed in New Jersy in this book!

I called United Financial back and reuqested a mailing address, they gave me a P.O. Box in New York City, New York. I sent the package back and GUESS WHAT??? No call from the refund department!!! This company is big-rip off company who lies about their programs, offers, promises and then lies about where to contact them. I called my bank to get a phone number so I can call again but there is no number listed.

I finally got onto the internet and found that others have had the same experience from United Financial~ money taken and NO CREDIT CARD!!! I want my money back!!! Someone please help!!!
