First of all, this guy that owns these companies goes by the name Mark Bhatti, even though his real name Munawar Islam Bhatti. Could be a ploy to throw off a name search for him.
We were hired to haul a load of produce. When they failed to pay the $3000, we tried to collect on their broker bond. We were told by their bond company that they were not authorized to move produce, therefore could not pay us off of the bond.
Since we lived in the area the broker operated out of, we went by the business several times in an attempt to collect. Each time it was closed. The last time we went there, there were moving people there stating they were moving the stuff out and the business had closed. They also told us he owned several other companies.
We then took them to court, but due to their LLC status, and since they had no property listed in the company name, we were unable to collect and the LLC protected Mr. Bhatti from us taking him to court personally to collect. He ripped us off as well as other companies, despite the fact we looked him up on our county public records tax site and he lives in a $750,000 house in Fayetteville. He has gotten rich by ripping people off.
On the North Carolina Secretary of State web site, he and several members of his family own and have owned several companies. At least a few of them have gone out of business while still owing people. This guy is a repeat offender where it comes to starting companies, then closing down owing people with his corporation to protect him from being personally sued for the money owed.
Stay away from any broker with the last name Bhatti listed on the contract. He and his family members change up their first names. They will not pay.
