Rip-off never received magazine, but my check went through 5 months ago victimized many consumers

I ordered a magazine from these two girls in early Sept. They seemed so nice, and I didn't think that this could be a scam. It's now five months later, and I finally tried to find out what happened to my order. Turns out through some investigating that this company doesn't even exist. Now I'm out $40! This really sucks. I feel like I can't trust salespeople anymore.
