PACO (Puertorriquenos Asociados For Community Organization, Inc.)
Took back Utility Funds Given to help Low income and Disabled people, causing services to be shut off

PACO an organization that is supposed to help people... Ity's website states "We're here to help!", well, I'd like to know just who they are there to help, because their actions have hurt me, causing my to get my electricity shut off during these past freezing cold days.

PACO is supposed to help people who are low income, and disabled, it stands for PuertoRicans, but they are supposed to help anyone in need, regardless of race or ethnicity. I am beginning to think that this organization is racist.

I am an African American disabled male who lives on SSI. I live in subsidized housing, where my heat is included, but I am responsible for the electricity. I received a letter from PACO stating that I was eligible to receive assistance for my electric bill. Now PACO paid money directly to my electric company (PSEG), and PSEG acknowledged receipt of the funds.

For some reason, I get a letter from PACO stating that I was ineligible for the funds and that they were taking back the funds paid to PSEG. How could I be ineligible? I am disabaled, I live on SSI and my electric is not included in my rent. Also, I was sent the letter stating that I was eligible. Well, PACO, after paying the money to PSEG, took the money back, so then I get a letter from PSEG stating that PACO took the funds back and that I have to pay $400 to keep my electricity from being turned off. I only get a fixed amount of money, plus I have to pay my rent and eat. I did not have $400 to pay them.

PSEG turned of my electricity, and now my managment company, where I live at is threatening to evict me if I don't get my electricity turned on in 2 weeks, and if I continue to burn candles. They also turned off my heat telling me that since I do not have any electricity, that is why I do not have any heat.

How could PACO do this to me?
