RC does party decor and quoted me an amazing price if I gave him half the money on the day I accepted his proposal. At each subsequent meeting, he promised more if I continued to give him money on the spot.
4 days before my event, he e-mailed me to tell me that he needed an additional $1200 to complete my party decor. When I asked him what he had done so far, he told me that he had nothing to show for the $2450 I had already given him,
To make a long story short, I had to pay another $1900 directly to the vendors to get what I needed to make the room look decorated. All the while, RC continued to ask for money - for his workers, his florist, even his gas! He seemed to forget that he had absconded with the original $2450.
In the end, I paid a total of $4350 and my friends and I did the vast majority of the work. I had to have him escorted out of the venue since he was persistent in trying to extort even more money from me.
Unfortunately, I have since found out that so many other people have been scammed like I was... And this man is still in business! I know a couple who took him to small claims court and won, but haven't seen a penny of the money he owes them. I hope the word spreads about RC Safran, so that no one has to have their special occasion compromised because of him.
