I was looking around for a Panasonic DVX100B and found on this the Lenses and More website starting at $1,067. This was just for the camera itself, they also offered packages that went up to $1,799.
I'd seen this camera advertised on other sites anywhere from $2,300 to 3,500, so this seemed to good to be true.
I called them up to confirm the cost, and asked about any other additional costs. I was told that I didn't have to pay for shipping insurance, only New York State tax.
Their website states that you have to pay your own state tax. This didn't make any sense.
The operator then told me they only do business with a credit card. I told him I'd prefer to do it with a certified check.
He immediately asked me why with his best "Brooklyn attitude" impression.
I told him that's how I prefer to do business, and besides their site states that they accept this form of payment.
His response was and I quote, "Why the attitude, I'm just trying to help you out."
I laughed and hung up.
I think it's pretty clear just who and what these guys are. Their prices are too good to be true, and there's a reason for it. Lucky I read a few other posts here on complaint, and that should tell you all you need to know about whether or not to buy from this company.
