APX Alarm bait and switch liars false advertising misleading company Provo Utah

I was sold a security system from an APXalarm sales guy in early 2007. My first question was how long was the contract for because I'm in the process of selling my home. I didn't want the system if the contract was to long or if the company was going to make it difficult to cancel. The sales guy said try it for a couple of weeks if you don't like, call up the company and have it cancelled. I said it sounds like a plan.

The very first week the system wasn't working properly. I called for repairs and they told me that there would be a charge for the visit, which was never disclosed by the sales rep. It took a few tries and they never got it right. I havn't been using the alarm system and have been waiting for the contract to expire so that I can get rid of it. When I called I told them I wanted it cancel, they said I couldn't because i was on a 5 yr contract. I told them there records were wrong and that i only had an 18 month contract. They were saying that I was mistaken and the only way to get out of the contract was to pay the 5 yr which was well over $1100.

This is the worst scam ever. I will never do business with them again. I hope we can get a class action going on them. I hope the media investigates there crooked practices.
