In reference to my Business Experience:
I was solicited by this company and guaranteed that I would recieve many leads, and that my particular services (24 Hr Electrical / Alarm services) are not very competitive, so I would definitely be a exclusive contractor.
They demanded that as part of the payment's they needed a C/Card on file or Access to my Checking Account to receive leads, and that i would be billed bi-weekly. This could not be further from the truth.
First off, they ask you to up your account line of lead credit to get the good leads, and they send many leads not even in your scope of work, yet they ask us to send any leads that are not right, they will then take 2 to 3 weeks reviewing them and decide whether it will be credited back, or not.
Anyone can see how they wreak havoc to a business account or credit card, during the 3 week review period you are still being fed a slew of bogus info, bad names, bad phone numbers and such, yet you are being billed anyhow.
Imagine this scenario, you as a company attempt to contact, you send a employee at your own costs to the homeowner and find it to be bogus, or the people are flipping out on you because they have over 30 messages from contractors already? In a 2 day period?
So how do you make money as a contractor, if you are running on bad leads, amassing cost and working in the red / you don't their answer / take more leads to find a good lead.
In the end unless you get lucky, you lose funds, they wreak havoc on your accounts with multiple billing, and you as a contractor get a bad name with clients... Since you are the local guy.
